Unstained from the world...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... Under the category of "It's never too late to learn" today I had a revelation. Of course I know what orphans are, of course I know what widows are, but when James wrote, "If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person’s religion is worthless. Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world." (James 1:26-27) Like many times before, it occurred to me that your word has dual meaning; physical examples translating into spiritual meaning and purpose. Like orphans and widows who've lost parents and spouses, just how many people are lost in this world, separated from your presence; orphans and widows apart from your loving arms? Oh how you care for your people, oh how you take us in our broken down positions and raise us to the highest of levels; children to inherit your gift of eternal life! But there are expectations of family, to be dedicated to the cause by doing our very best to keep ourselves unstained from the world by caring for those in need, just as Jesus cared and cares for us… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
