The worst of the worst...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... Saul, later called Paul, who knew the scriptures inside and out, and who knew of the great sins he had committed, had to live with his murder of Stephen your servant for the rest of his life. He was present when Stephen gave one of the greatest orations of the Old Testament leading into the New Testament that has ever been recorded. Paul could have stopped that horrific event but he chose to allow it to go on, and in doing so forcing himself to admit that he himself was the worst sinner imaginable, the worst of the worst! For Paul wrote, "Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life." (1 Timothy 1:15-16) We have to ask ourselves, what have we condoned in our own lives? Atrocities that would surely condemn us on judgement day had it not been for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ dying on the cross so that those atrocities would be forgiven forevermore… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
