Sustaining excellence...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... Sustaining excellence could quite possibly be one of the more difficult things to do in this life. Yes, we have those moments of brilliance, those times when we just can't seem to do anything wrong, and for these times we are thankful because they build us up. But as we all know, those moments are fleeting, brought back down to earth with our own insecurities, our own lack of self-confidence, and quite honestly, our own failures which simply freeze us in our tracks, keepings us from moving forward. The opposite of excellence is mediocracy; so we have to decide, are we going to be seekers of excellence or to morph into sheep, following the masses to the easy way out, the very pathway leading to mediocracy; a place nobody in their right Christlike mind should ever desire to be. Jesus said, "Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:16) and in Colossians 3:23-24 Paul wrote these words of encouragement, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters… It is the Lord Christ you are serving." Words to live by, words leading to action and those actions leading to excellence in the kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
