For the sake of Christ...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... We can all acknowledge being humbled at numerous points in our lives, with many of those times leaving us searching for meaning and purpose. Paul gave us clarification on the topic when he had pleaded three times to you for a "thorn in his flesh" to be removed; "But he (the Lord) said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong." (2 Corinthians 12:9-10) It's a mystery as old as time, we fight being humbled with every ounce of energy we have remaining, but when it comes to being persecuted for our "faith in Christ" positions, these moments of suffering for the sake of Christ serve to strengthen our faith in Him… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
