You will never enter...
Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... Are there "humble us" statements in your scriptures? Oh yes there are! I'm reminded of a real humdinger when Jesus said one day, "Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:3-4) What does it mean to humble oneself like a child? A child knows they need their parents when times get tough, and a child is teachable whereas adults are more likely to fall back on "you can't teach an old dog new tricks," and a child, at the end of the day, knows they need to trust and obey their parents. These are humbling moments that a child is more apt to pursue on a daily basis, but adults just seem to proudly proclaim that they can stand on their own two feet, no need to surrender anything to a higher being, they have become a god unto themselves, and this is anything but humble… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
