Large and in-charge...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... Sometimes I think I have it so bad, frustrated by the illogical, power-seeking world round about me, but then I think of Jesus; King of kings, Lord of lords, surrounded by, to be blunt, disrespectful self-seeking know-it-alls. Literally, blindly driven by their desire to be large and in-charge of their self-created little fiefdoms, to the point of killing anyone who dared to get in their way, including your only son, the very Son of God. Jesus in quoting a saying understood in His day said, "'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.’ For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds." (Matthew 11:17-19) Lord, may we never take on the nature of those disrespectful, so-called religious elitists of Jesus' day, but rather, to humbly bow in your presence and know our position in this life, and it's really quite simple; we are NOTHING without Jesus… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
