Whoever would save his life will lose it...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... It's amazing how everybody else seems to have a better plan than those tasked with making the plan. We live in a society where second guessing is not only encouraged but an expected behavior, regardless of the complete disrespect toward those in charge. The great tragedy of this type of thinking is that it bleeds over into us thinking that we are gods in and of ourselves, and as such, into thinking we don't need you or Jesus in our lives. As we know, this is absolutely contrary to what Jesus taught when He said, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?" (Matthew 16:24-26) Without Jesus, we lose; with Jesus, we win… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
