We think we can go it alone...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... It's a fact, in world history, if we don't educate ourselves on past mistakes made, we're bound to repeat those same mistakes in the future. We have to inform ourselves in order to prevent ourselves from unnecessarily suffering great heartache and pain. Why should we think it's any different when it comes to our spiritual status with you, O Lord? We've tried to go-it-alone in our younger days, to pull ourselves up by your own bootstraps, to live life as if there was no concern for making the same spiritual mistakes today that we made yesterday! As a people, how foolish we have become. Perhaps the greatest mistake is not seeking forgiveness for the mistakes we've made; John wrote in 1 John 1:9 the power in seeking forgiveness: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." Through Jesus, what a beautiful and faithful promise this is and forever will be, nevermore to go it alone… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
