Today salvation has come to this house...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... The Pharisees, the self-proclaimed righteous-above-all-others, of Jesus' day were absolutely APPALLED that Jesus would eat with "sinners" like Zacchaeus, a tax collector, a sinner above all sinners in their eyes. So, what did Zacchaeus do? "Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, 'Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor. And if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I restore it fourfold.' And Jesus said to him, 'Today salvation has come to this house, since he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.'" (‭‭Luke‬ ‭19‬:‭8‬-‭10‬) What a contrast, what a Savior; a Savior who encourages us to be looking out for others by repenting of our sinful actions against them, a Savior who isn't looking for the self-righteous but for those needing forgiveness at every step of their journey in this life. Oh, to hear those beautiful words of life, today salvation has come to this house… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
