To be proud or to be humble...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... I'm pretty sure I'm just smart enough to know that I'm not smart enough! But then again I see so many people demonstrate that they believe they ARE smart enough to do anything and everything in their own great name. It's quite a contrast, the proud as compared to the humble. It's a contrast because we can make a great case for the humble having the most reason to be proud, whereas the proud can never be humble at the time they are preoccupied with being proud. What's the problem here? Quite simply, we sincerely believe that we are gods unto ourselves, and as such, we think we don't need you in our lives. But there's a better way, as Peter wrote; "Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for 'God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.' Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you." (1 Peter 5:5-7)... Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
