People after God's own heart...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... What would this life be like if people desiring power and control actually put others first rather than demanding to get their own way in any and all situations? It would be wonderful; that's what it would be, but here we are, looking in the mirror, honestly looking into our own souls, and knowing we are never good enough to throw the first stone in judgement. King David was a man after God's own heart, but he was a blatant sinner, so what gives? When David demanded to get his own way, bad things started happening to good people, but he was a man after your heart, O Lord, because he kept coming back, he continued to repent when he would finally come to his senses. He loved you Lord, as we need to love you; David said, "I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies." (Psalm 18:1-3) With Jesus at the forefront of all we say and do, being baptized into His name, He is there for us, forgiving us, but we must take refuge in Him, and when doing so, He saves us from our enemies… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
