Misery loves company...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... It has often been said that misery loves company, and this is just so true on so many levels; for it's something we've all witnessed in our lives time and time again. Isn't it interesting when one person says something firmly and mean-spirited against our enemies, we are instantly bonded to that like-minded individual. How pathetic we can be. For Jesus did not say, concerning our enemies, 'Hate your enemies and love everyone who is of like mind.' No, far far from it! For He said, "I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." (Matthew 5:44) This is a far cry from that which the world teaches us relative to those who are against us. But we shouldn't be surprised, for through Christ, we are to be different from the world. In John 15:19 Jesus said, "If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you." We are a chosen people, not because of anything we've done, but because of what Jesus has done for us… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
