Love your enemies...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... Thank you, Lord, for simplifying our thought processes, for we have a way of complicating life more than it needs to be. Jesus said simply, "I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" (Matthew 5:44) Our desire is to pay back people that cross us in ways that multiply the persecutions they have laid upon us, that is simply mankind's way of solving problems, not the spiritual way that you encourage us to do. For when we pray for our enemies rather than taking revenge upon them, we're following in the footsteps of Jesus, the very one who said, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do." In doing so, we free our minds from the burden of "keeping score," and we show the world a better way, a way leading to life… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
