Listen and stop doing what you're doing...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... Listen and stop doing what you're doing! In our softer than soft, non-offending-at-all-cost world these days, it's not exactly something we like to hear, but then again Lord, we can't make you into something we expect you to be. Job was a little too cocky, and you needed to reel him in, simple as that. Just as one of Job's "friends" reminded him when he challenged Job saying, "Listen to this, Job; stop and consider God’s wonders. Do you know how God controls the clouds and makes his lightning flash? Do you know how the clouds hang poised, those wonders of him who has perfect knowledge? ...The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power; in his justice and great righteousness, he does not oppress. Therefore, people revere him, for does he not have regard for all the wise in heart?" (Job 37:14-16,23-24) Finally, after his friend's long-winded chastisement, you, O Lord, addressed Job out of the whirlwind and said: "Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Dress for action like a man; I will question you, and you make it known to me. Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding." (Job 38:1-4) We need to be reminded just we are (the humbled), and who you are (the Almighty), and when we understand the differentiation, we just need to listen very carefully to your words of truth and love… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
