Life is no bed of roses...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... I hear people talk, life is not a bed of roses like we all try to make it out to be. In fact, it's nearly downright impossible to make sense of it all on a daily basis. The struggle is real, especially for those on the edge; but I guess if it were easy we'd all take more advantage of you than we already do. I hate that, but we are ALL guilty of getting so wrapped up in ourselves and our woe-is-me mentality that we just flat exclude you from our planning, and what a mistake that is. Could Jesus have made that point any clearer when He said, "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it." (Matthew 7:24-27) I don't know about everyone seeing these words, but as for me and my house, we're building our house on the rock of Jesus Christ… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
