If it ain't broke...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... It's a saying as old as time, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." It makes perfect sense on so many levels, for when we attempt to improve something that's already functionally working, more often than not we end up breaking what wasn't really broken in the first place. But here's the problem, we apply this same logic to our faith; when life is seemingly good without Jesus, why bother going to church and investing the time and effort to worship? Jesus told us why in the Parable of the Rich Fool; "The land of a rich man produced plentifully, and he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’ And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.”’ But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God." (Luke 12:16-21) Each day brings a set of unique challenges, but one this is our constant in this life; Jesus blesses those who are a blessing to Him… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
