Idiotic behavior rules the day, yet again...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... I often wonder how close all of us are to practicing completely idiotic behavior. My gut tells me we're closer than we might like to admit. How do I know this? Because we see idiotic behavior, all around us on a daily basis, and too many times that behavior even emanates from self. It always boils down to us wanting to get our own way; hate to admit this, but it's true. If we had the best interest of others at the forefront of all things we say and do, what a beautiful world this would be. We would be SO less likely to stick our foot in our mouth. The Living Bible translates Proverbs 10:19, "Don’t talk so much. You keep putting your foot in your mouth. Be sensible and turn off the flow!" Amen to this, if only I could keep my trap shut more often than not. "Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. So also, the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire!" (James 3:4-5) Now, let's not choose to open our mouths lashing out at "those people" and in doing so, convicting ourselves of similar idiocy… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
