Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... Does anybody really like spending time with a self-promoter? That's an easy answer; NO WAY! These self-seekers just can't seem to help themselves, swelling up with pride as they describe their wonderful exploits of success and fame attained solely as a result of their high and mighty achievements in their fields of endeavor. Seeing people and places and things is a wonderful part of our journey in this existence we call life, but hearing others overlay THEIR perceived greatness onto YOUR absolute greatness, quite simply, repulses me. The beautiful thing about following in the footsteps of Jesus is that it always leads to a better way, a better life, and THE best life everlasting; "Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves." (Philippians 2:3), for if you "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up." (James 4:10)… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
