Expecting to win...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... I have a HUGE pet peeve these days. I suppose it deals primarily with my extreme confidence in expecting to win, but when I see college students rush the field or court on a big win, all it does is scream, "we didn't expect to win, but we won!" To me, it demonstrates extreme weakness, a total lack of confidence. What does this mean in the scheme of life? When it comes to things that matter, like Jesus Christ and him crucified, we shouldn't be surprised when we win every big game. It's simply something we should expect to happen since Jesus paid the ultimate price for our sins! And as such, we will be active participants in defeating this world and its worldly ways every single time! Will we be happy? Absolutely! But we shouldn't be surprised, for Jesus said, "Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels...And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25‬:‭41‬, ‭46‬)… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
