Do nothing from selfish ambition...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... It's maddening how we constantly compare ourselves to others, trying to determine who's bigger, better, stronger, faster. The comparisons boggle our minds; too fat / too thin, too aggressive/ too passive, and on and on it goes to infinity and beyond. Why do we do this to ourselves? Could it be simply a magnification of self as compared to others or perhaps a method of self-deprecation, knowing we'll never quite measure up. But here's the scoop for living a life with vision and spiritual purpose, "Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross." (Philippians 2:3-8) If we desire to positively impact the world around us, THIS is the first step in THE right direction; no comparisons, but rather, simply serving as Jesus served us… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
