Do not be deceived...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... Legendary basketball coach John Wooden would often say, "failing to prepare is preparing to fail." But it never ceases to amaze me how many people think they can do nothing when it comes to their faith in Jesus Christ (no preparation whatsoever) and yet still think that He will be favorable with this lack of preparation on the day of judgement. The Bible doesn't teach this, in fact, just the opposite is taught; "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil." (2 Corinthians 5:10) and "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." (1 Corinthians 6:9-10) It's also been said, "Heaven is a prepared place for prepared people." To which I would add, to your forgiven-by-the-blood-of-Jesus followers, your faithful followers, your children of God… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
