Being content in this life...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... What if our world was turned upside down and we were forced to do a lot with very little? Would we have the same attitude that we have now in our times of plenty? I think not! For we've had numerous examples in our history where some were forced into an life where their world became very small, and they weren't able to do what they had previously wanted to do, nor did they even have time to think about things beyond their immediate prisons of confinement. Times when they were forced to make do with what they had simply because they had no choice in the matter at hand. Paul had these types of times and wrote these words of wisdom for us to live by; "Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me." (Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬-‭13‬) When things are bad, really really bad, and even in times when things are good, really really good, in all times, we need to put Jesus first in ALL things we say and do; to have a faith that will surely lead us to points of coping with whatever this life may throw at us… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
