Baptism now saves you...
Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... Why would the "religious" world make baptism (immersion...Greek-to-English translation) so controversial? It's really perfectly straightforward IF we are but willing to let the scriptures speak to us. Of course, love, forgiveness, and grace are all an integral part of our faith journey, but even though many argue the point of baptism being necessary (why not just pray Jesus into your heart), it TOO is absolutely a huge component of you viewing us as perfectly forgiven, saved forevermore as long as we truly keep the faith to the very end. What do the scriptures say about baptism? "God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water. Baptism, which corresponds to this, now SAVES you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ" (1 Peter 3:20-21) Perfectly understandable and nearly impossible to misunderstand? Absolutely! It's time for the world to listen to and then obey your words of truth, saved by your grace and forgiveness after we are buried in baptism, baptized into the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus our Lord; forever adopted into your family as your children… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
