Above and beyond the call of duty...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... We go to work, we go home, we rest if we can, then we do it all over again; lather-rinse-repeat. Have we really boiled life down to a daily to-do list? I pray not, but this is our tendency in our present day society, to simply put life on autopilot as we work through the grind. This is why I've always admired those who have the desire and ability to rise above the fray. Doing what needs to be done? Absolutely, doing what needs to be accomplished each and every new day, but to ALSO go above and beyond the call of duty! That's why it is SO easy to love Jesus; He was the absolute perfect example of a man willing to do anything to save His neighbor, and He did just that on that cruel cross over 2,000 years ago. "By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers." (1 John 3:16)… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
