Vengeance is Mine...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... Confucius has been credited with stating, "If you're planning revenge, you'll need to dig your own grave first." Whoever said it was wise in spirit and thought for revenge is a dangerously dangerous game of life and death. But are we to ignore blatantly obvious acts of aggression against those we dearly love? In the moment, absolutely not, for we have every right to protect our family and friends from all harm. But the tricky part is when we dwell upon the revenge we so want to feed upon until the perpetrators have felt as much or more pain than they have inflicted. The problem with these thoughts is that we don't have what it takes to judge every aspect of every situation, but you do, O Lord; "Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, 'Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,' says the Lord." (Romans 12:19) No, it's not healthy for us to dwell on the negativity of vengeance, but rather on the thought that you have our backs, and that you will know what needs to be done for the good of all… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
