Unrealistic expectations...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... Indeed, it's a commonplace occurrence to fail on a regular basis, having set the bar far too high, a bar cleverly disguised as unrealistic expectations. The longer I live the more I realize the folly in such expectations, the letdowns that we all bring upon ourselves on a daily basis. Wouldn't it be better for me to push as hard as possible in the spirit of Jesus and simply letting the chips fall where they may? Yes, it would! For with such actions, I'm telling the world that I'm putting my faith and trust in you, O Lord; living life the way I would imagine Jesus having walked His walk, for "Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked." (1 John 2:6) Do I always get it right? No way, in fact, pretty sure you know that I get it wrong more often than right but also knowing that Jesus' blood covers my sins when I fall short of my goals set in His name… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
