Trust and obey...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... Why does it have to be so difficult for us to even be the least bit obedient? That might be the easiest question in the world to answer; in simple terms, we don't like to be obedient because we don't like to be told what to do! It's not too difficult to comprehend since we ALL fall into this human predicament; knowing what needs to be done, but only willing to do it if we're the ones who came up with the idea in the first place. Yes, it's ridiculous how selfish we can be along these lines, and quite honestly, I truly believe it's why so many fail to follow through with their faith in Jesus Christ. Why? Because they perceive that they won't be able to do what they want to do when they want to do it. "Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others." (Philippians 2:3-4)… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
