Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... It hurts deeply that the majority of people think love ends the moment feelings fade. How do I know? In the US upwards of 50% of first-time marriages end in divorce, and now-a-days more and more couples are living together to "test the waters" before even contemplating marriage. It's a mixed-up mash of anything goes to do our best to keep the "emotional feelings" elevated, and in our thinking, sustaining the fragile relationship. But love as taught in the Scriptures reveals that TRUE love is in no way built upon emotions alone, in fact, the best of our relationships are rooted in sacrifice and commitment over all else. If this doesn't sound like the romantic movies we have all come to know and love, then we can rest assured that Hollywood is duping us into a false sense of right and wrong YET AGAIN! True "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends..." (1 Corinthians 13:4-8) The love of Jesus is the love we need to pursue with all of our heart, strength, soul, and mind… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
