To the depths of our souls...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... To weep bitterly is an emotion that no one wants to experience, for to do so is to feel pain to the depths of our souls. It's an emptiness that mere words cannot begin to express. These times are defining moments, times when we'd rather be anywhere but where we are, searching for meaning and purpose in places no one ever desires to be. Peter had a moment like this the night he betrayed his Lord and Savior three times before the rooster crowed. "After a little while the bystanders came up and said to Peter, 'Certainly you too are one of them, for your accent betrays you.' Then he began to invoke a curse on himself and to swear, 'I do not know the man.' And immediately the rooster crowed. And Peter remembered the saying of Jesus, 'Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.' And he went out and wept bitterly." (Matthew 26:73-75) Did that moment change Peter? I know it did; now may we all remember our own lowest of low points and use them as motivation to stay committed to the very end… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
