The next life...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... I hate to admit it, but it hurts me to say that my days are numbered here. Why is that? Could it be that I love this world just a bit too much? I dare say, yes, it's true, I love my life. It's a balance for sure; to be thankful but not thinking that tomorrow is promised or that it should contain unrealistic expectations of something wonderful from a worldly perspective. At the end of the day, if tomorrow is in the cards for me then my purpose for tomorrow is to bring glory and honor to Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Could there be persecution involved? Absolutely, for Jesus Himself said, "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake. For theirs is the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 5:10) Would I trade anything in this life for the kingdom of heaven? Yes, I would, and so would everyone if they only knew what saved followers of Jesus know, and that is, this life is nothing compared to the next life… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
