The good of the many...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... It's a difficult proposition, should we focus on the good things that are happening in our lives, or should we focus on the perceived bad things that many feel are bringing them down? I can say that some are SO focused on the perceived negatives of this life that they lose sight of your tremendous blessings in ALL of our lives! So, it's that negative cycle, that negative angle to all things that are perceived as not going the way others think they should be going that serves to bring us all down do their negatively derived common denominator. No, I'm not saying everything is a bed of roses, but we are quick to judge on things we have NO idea concerning why they're being done for the good of the many. All we have to do is look to the first century, a time when those "nothing good can come out of Nazareth" religious elite with their high and mighty in-their-own-eyes ways, thought it was a VERY good idea to crucify the son of God. Were they negative? Absolutely! Were they selfishly motivated in their opinions? Absolutely! Were they wrong in their actions? Absolutely! Being quick to pass judgment on others is never a good path to take in this life, especially when those judgements are nothing more than a self-serving means to retain and gain power; concerning Jesus, the rulers scoffed at Him, saying, "He saved others; let Him save Himself, if He is the Christ of God, His Chosen One!" The soldiers also mocked Him, coming up and offering Him sour wine and saying, "If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!" (Luke 23:35-37)… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
