The gate is narrow...
Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... If it wasn't so sad, it would almost be amusing concerning how "assumed" heaven as a destination has become for those who pass from this life to their destination in the next step on their spiritual journey (saved to heaven, not saved to hell). For those left living, we have to understand that our faith is a personal decision, not something we can impose on others when it's too late, when our time on earth has come to an end. Matthew 7:14 states, "For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few." Why do few find it? Few find it cause they don't take Jesus seriously enough to even dedicate but a few minutes a day to discovering His ways, His love, His forgiveness. There's a truism here we all need to acknowledge and to know, "Nothing good comes easy!" No, we will never be good enough to EARN our way to heaven, but we must acknowledge your goodness, O Lord, and do what you expect us to do to become an adopted member of your family. Galatians 3:27 states clearly, "For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ." Being clothed in Christ simply translates to being forgiven, which translates to a home in heaven forevermore; for we must be forgiven to be in your presence, which is completely encapsulated in the forgiving and sacrificial blood of my Lord and savior, Jesus Christ… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
