Serving one another...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... It's amazing how a little power can turn someone who was formally what we would call a "good person," into someone we cannot tolerate being with in the same room. It has been said, "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely!" This type of behavior has been witnessed countless times since the creation of mankind. Given the opportunity to do so, we just can't seem to help ourselves when it comes to the temptation to dominate another. Jesus could have easily dominated those around Him, but He chose to lead by example; for He said in Matthew 20:25-26, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them… Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant." Oh, isn't' that a twist for mankind? Instead of demanding to be served we are to serve one another. Even Jesus said about Himself, "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many." (Mark 10:45)… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
