Purposely remembering…

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... It's unfortunate that we work our entire lives to try and forget what we don't want to remember. Why is that an unfortunate thing, one might ask? I contend that bad things in this life define us more than the good things, for if we don't learn from the evil we experience in this life then we're destined to experience it over and over again. There's a common saying that says, the definition of insanity is trying the same thing over and over again but expecting different results. I hate it when I make mistakes, especially those that cause heartache and grief to others, but if I consciously omit that memory from future encounters then I'll be even more disappointed in self when I fail over and over. So, what are we to do when forced to address the evil in this life? Just try to forget and move on? By no means, rather, we're to hit it head on; "Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good." (Romans 12:21), and what better example than Christ Jesus himself, the very one who defeated Satan head on by sacrificing His life for the betterment of mankind; may we all follow in His footsteps… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
