Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... Have I encouraged someone today, have I decidedly demonstrated a desire for unity even though we agree to disagree? These are the pillars of not only a great society but THE best way to work together on a daily basis with those whose positions vary greatly from our own. Sometimes I think we think that we're suffering now more than ever before, and one can make a valid argument for that I'm sure, but division has always been a part of mankind's experience one with another. Written 2,000 years ago and yet it still rings true today are the spiritual words; "I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment." (1 Corinthians 1:10) When we look to get our own way, no matter how justified our position is verses another, this is the very moment that both parties are destined to suffer; fighting for their own causes rather than seeking the mutual foundation of togetherness. Influence, versus dictate; this is the calling card of those seeking the type of unity as only discovered in Christ Jesus. The words of Jesus NEED to be heard; "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." (John 13:34-35) …Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
