Pawn in game of life...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... In the movie Blazing Saddles, the character Mongo was wise concerning his lowly position in life when he stated, "Mongo only pawn in game of life." Isn't that the truth that seemingly nobody except Mongo wants to admit? We all think we need to be rough and tough and to be catered to on a daily basis. Truth is, the best life is one wherein we're quick to suck it up, knowing we're going to be rejected, disappointed, and dramatically disrespected on a daily basis. With these lowly expectations, we've got nothing to lose, except missed opportunities to help those in need of that which we are able and willing to provide. In my own walk of life I have loved those willing to stand up for what really matters, but I've also noticed a disturbing trend; if one who thinks THEY are the only one blessed with knowing what truly matters, then they are the very ones who fall the hardest. Jesus said in Matthew 23:11–12 "The greatest among you will be your servant. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted." …Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
