Patience is a virtue...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... Patience is a virtue we struggle to put into practice for it requires getting over self as we look into the wants and needs of others, even placing them above our own, which is never an easy thing to do. We all know a better way, so naturally we struggle not to overlay that way onto another's perceived better way. Oh, but we can save them so much time and effort if only they did this or that, but maybe time and effort are not the issues here, maybe it's allowing others to find their own way and not to be dependent upon our initiatives for their lives. Even when others ask us our opinion, perhaps a question of inquiry seeking their own opinion would be more appropriate than a statement of punctual fact from our seemingly limitless supply of "perfect" answers, and in doing so, we begin to apply your "patient with us" ways, O Lord. "The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
