Only love can drive out hate...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... What a beautifully spiritual man delivering a beautifully spiritual message; "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was that man, no doubt, a man after your own heart, O Lord. Was he perfect? Nope, not even close, but then again, no one is now or ever has been perfect in your sight in and of themselves. Of course, we have one exception, your perfect son, Jesus, who now makes His obedient servants / His obedient disciples "perfect" in your sight by the blood He freely chose to shed on our behalf. For "When Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time until His enemies should be made a footstool for His feet. For by a single offering He has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified." (Hebrews 10:12-14) When we set our eyes on Jesus, we become as Jesus imagined us becoming; willing to serve others to the very end. May we all set our eyes on Jesus; the very one who taught us the true meaning of love, and in doing so, putting hate where it belongs; out of the presence of love… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
