Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... Mr. Spock from the original Star Trek series used to say in his farewells, "Live long, and prosper." I know most would interpret that in the physical sense, but as I've grown older, I'm a firm believer that it's a phrase completely applicable to the spiritual realm. It's common for mankind to only seek longevity when the fragility of life hits close to home, sometimes that's good enough as the scriptures testify in Jesus' Parable of the Laborers in the Vineyard, but sometimes life is suddenly cut short before there's time to get our lives right with you; "Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit'— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes." (James 4:13-14) In the spirit, "live long" translates into eternal life, while "prosper" simply states our state of being forevermore for those who chose to get their lives aligned with Jesus… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
