Leading with humility and compassion...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... There are gentle souls and there are souls that are downright nasty to the core of all they say and do. I have to ask, why does it have to be like this? It's not that gentle souls can't be firm and resolute, but that they lead with humility and compassion, and then take the appropriate humble and compassionate path to resolution. Whereas the self-centered lead with conflict, with the goal of exposing points of weakness to be exploited for manipulation, and worse yet, they are often the very ones bragging about how humble they truly are. Seriously? My thinking tells me that if I have to tell someone how humble I am, then most likely I'm anything but humble. Jesus warned us lest we fall into the trap of self-promotion which leads to death; "Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted." (Matthew 23:12) Teaching this world SO desperately needs on a daily basis… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
