Know-it-alls...ugh...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... It's not easy being a good listener, and it's certainly more difficult for some than others based on their lack of willingness to even listen a little to the ideas and concerns of others. We all love to share life, to communicate what has and has not worked based on our knowledge, our experience, our wisdom. But when non-listeners shut us off mid-sentence, it is obvious that they don't care enough to even bother caring a little. Also, I've noticed a disturbing trend; those who know a lot tend to think they know it all as they lord their perceived knowledge over others in an often condescending way. May we NOT be counted among those people! For your word teaches, "Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger..." (‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬) ‬‬ Honestly, as in all things, we simply need to follow in the footsteps of Jesus; a man, your son, the King of all kings, yet not too good to slow down and listen to those around him and to respond accordingly as one who cared immensely for the opinions of others, which gave him numerous openings to teach the truth… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
