High and mighty...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... It's a horrible feeling knowing that others feel it necessary to lord over us as if that's their destiny in life. The "I am better than you" syndrome that seems to permeate every aspect of society these days. We see it in the flaunting of homes, cars, job positions, clothes, and especially in snobbery attitudes. But life is far too brief to spend our time frivolously seeking a higher social status, in fact, our lives are but a vapor, here one moment and gone the next. Our souls need to be spiritually focused on Jesus, for we WILL BE judged, not on who we're trying to be, but on who we are. "Jesus appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him." (Hebrews 9:26-28)… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
