For the good of the many...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... Jay Wright, one of my all-time favorite coaches, once said concerning team over self, "We have a saying that everyone's role is different, but everyone's status is the same. It's a reminder that no matter how bright the spotlight gets, we are all part of something much larger than ourselves." At the end of the day, we all want to contribute to causes worthy of our time and effort, causes making us proud to know that we've made a difference for the good of the many. But all too often we get our priorities out of whack, finding ourselves focusing on self instead of simply being a good teammate and doing what we were designated to do, with the good of the team being the focus of why we do all we do. "Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor...just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved." (1 Corinthians 10:24,33) Without question, those in Christ have a much higher calling; we lead others to Christ Jesus so all may experience life everlasting… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
