Fighting for humility...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... An inferiority complex fighting to find a place in this world as backed by money, status, and education is never a good thing for anyone forced to witness such struggles. We've seen it over and over again, those trying to justify their accomplishments as if they are all of that in and of themselves! But I don't buy it, not for a second, for to accomplish seemingly great things in this life is nothing compared to the humble submission of our lives at the feet of Jesus Christ. We have a beautiful example of such contrasting views; while eating with the Pharisees a "sinful" woman created quite a stir, "Then turning toward the woman Jesus said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You gave me no kiss, but from the time I came in she has not ceased to kiss my feet. You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment. Therefore, I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven—for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little." (Luke 7:44-47) We have to ask, are we like the Pharisee or are we willing to humble ourselves at the feet of Jesus like this sinful yet humble woman? What a beautiful thing to be forgiven by the savior of the world… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
