Easy Like Sunday Morning...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... The expression penned by Lionel Richie was meant to describe the feeling of a small Southern town when everything used to shut down on the Lord's Day. That's not always the case anymore, so more often than not that expression now describes the feeling of being able to "sleep in" on Sunday mornings, to take it easy rather than getting up and going to church. I suppose it's just too easy for us to choose the path of least resistance, after all, don't we all "deserve our rest" after working so hard all week long or so we like to say in defense of our chosen / self-approved course of action? The reality of our calling in Christ SHOULD pull us away from the worldly and their teachings of self-over-all-else; "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." (Romans 12:2) A place where easy like Sunday morning takes us to church to spend priceless time with like-minded brothers and sisters in Christ; a place of peace and comfort and love… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
