Doing whatever you want...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... Today's world is messed up, so much so that I think anyone willing to truly contemplate our current me-first culture would easily come to this same conclusion. We live amongst those encouraged to do whatever they want, whenever they want, to whom whoever they want; no matter the cost or consequences. THIS is dangerous ground on which to make our stand! Why? Because it is in complete contrast to how YOU want us / expect us to live our lives. Jesus put it bluntly when He proclaimed, "For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted." (Matthew 23:12) In life it's always better to be lifted up by those who recognize our willingness to serve as compared to being forced to step down due to our arrogance of thinking we belonged somewhere we had no right to be. There was / is no better example than Jesus, who said, "Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." (Matthew 20:26-28)… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
