Doing what needs to be done...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... What are we to do when our schedules are so booked solid that we can't see even a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel, for all the while, to-do's just keep coming at a rapid-fire pace? The world is a busy place, a place with a seemingly limitless number of options demanding our attention. I contend that we have but one choice in the matter at hand, to simply take one "prioritized" step at a time, and, in parallel, to do our best to manage expectations. Sounds cliché'ish but that's just how we must deal with unrealistic timelines and their associated unrealistic expectations that are sure to follow us every step of our journey in life. Sure, we can choose the path of irresponsibility, a path that encourages us to simply not care, to do what we can justify doing, but forgetting about the concept of being a people of our word. But this is NOT our calling in Christ Jesus, not even close. What are God's people, your people to do? Moses guided all of us to your truth of this matter when he spoke to the people of Israel, saying, "This is what the Lord has commanded. If a man vows a vow to the Lord, or swears an oath to bind himself by a pledge, he shall not break his word. He shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth." (Numbers 30:1-2) …Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
