Caring enough to listen...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... I can't help but wonder what percent of our lives we spend investing our time and effort and money trying to ensure we're never alone. Perhaps it's our greatest fear in this life, to have nobody to share life with. Honestly, there's no reason to share our life's experience if nobody cares enough to pause their own stories and listen to others. How much of a difference can I make? I simply need to slow down, take a moment, and patiently listen to someone else instead of blaring my own speaker, full blast, 24x7. This especially applies to my life in Christ; either I'm willing to listen to your words of truth and life, or angerly lash out at you and anyone within earshot of just much the world needs to hear my pathetically selfish words of dissention. "Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. Therefore, put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls." (James 1:19-21)… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
