Better than I deserve...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... We all think we deserve better than this or better than that in our daily walk, but the truth of the matter hurts to the core; it doesn't sound great, but due to sin, truth be known, we simply deserve death. Today, if I'm breathing the air you provided, and someone asks me how I'm doing, then my present condition can easily be described as, "I'm doing better than I deserve." Romans 6:23 puts it bluntly, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." No, we don't deserve any free gifts relative to our sin position with you, O Lord, but oh what a beautiful gift we have in Jesus… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
