Being good at being good...

Father, your creation declares your greatness and lovingkindness, encouraging statements of pure truth in our daily walk... Could there be a better way of life than being good at being good? Nope, nothing better than that! But we need to understand, just because we can muster up being good from time to time, in no way shape or form are we good enough in and of ourselves, for even Jesus said to the one who called Him good, "Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone." Lord, Jesus was without sin, and yet He said He wasn't good, only the Father is good? I know where that places me in the pecking order...very near the bottom. But through Jesus, you have provided us a way out of our self-inflicted badness and shown us the way to a forgiven state of existence in your sight, encouraging us to do good to one another each and every moment where we have an opportunity to do the right thing; "Let the one who is taught the word share all good things with the one who teaches. Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith." (Galatians 6:6-10) May we look to Jesus for goodness, and may we know that He looks to you as the source of all things good… Thank you, Jesus, for showing us that you are the way, the truth, and the life; THE answer for those committed to seeking the truth in all things!
